My grandmother, Helen was dedicated to life. She lived with
great appreciation for the little things so easily taken
for granted. She remembered the first real growth of Albany’s
city life. She worked hard at a felt factory in Rensselaer,
raised a family with her husband, and created a lifetime
of memories for generations to come.
Life though, would not have been complete if it weren’t for the invention of coupons
and the concept of the supermarket. In her retirement days, she loved shopping. I used to be in awe of her
keen sense of a dollar’s worth and a bargain.
